Ana Martinez Orizondo (AMO) was born in Santa Clara, Cuba and lives in Coral Gables, Florida. Ana works with various mediums including, acrylic on canvas, soft pastels on recycled cotton rag paper and oil sticks. She also creates 2D and 3D pieces using natural materials such as palm tree bark and palm fronds. She was the inaugural artist-in-residence at The Chequit, Shelter Island, New York with a solo show, "Tree Stories: Selected Works" (2022). Duo and group shows include “Palo Santo,” Clandestina, Miami Art Week (2023): Doral International Art Fair (2023); “Blue” and "Inner Volumes Unraveled," Miami International Fine Arts, Miami, Florida (2024 and 2023); "Volume Up", a juried show, The Painting Center, New York (2023); "Flowers, Trees and Roots: The Wild World of Plants", a juried show, The View Cultural Arts Center, New York (2022). Ana collaborated with fashion designer, Gabriela Hearst on her Autumn Winter 2022 Collection with two of her artworks and was featured internationally in Vogue Mexico and Latin America, Orion Magazine, Cottages and Gardens, Art Seen, and Shelter Island Reporter, among others.
