About Ozlem Prast

Biography

I live in Palm Beach county, Florida and graduated in an architecture school and later on received masters on economics. As an award-winning architect and multidisciplinary artist, I've dedicated over two decades to the construction industry. Throughout my career, my focus has primarily centered on crafting distinctive, visually pleasing, and unparalleled architectural glass systems and solutions. These creations have found their home in a variety of settings, including hospitals, malls, hotels, and residential communities, leaving a lasting mark on the built environment.

Artist Statement

I am adept at using power tools same as paint brushes and navigating through diverse material palettes. This versatility allows me to create without limits, exploring a wide array of mediums, including sculpture, installation, mixed media, and painting. Inspiration and ideas are fluid, ever-evolving entities. My artistic path embraces the winds of change and the constant evolution of knowledge. This openness to diverse mediums, styles, and concepts allows me to adapt and explore new horizons in my artistry. My style embodies a fusion of diverse themes, each bearing the mark of varied cultural influences. At the heart of my fluid art and design lies the intention to infuse spaces with a positive, "Good Energy," imbued with a freeform aesthetic.

AURA COLLECTION

The main approach of this collection follows the Mystical and Zen philosophy of There is an ‘I’ within me, deep, deeper than ‘I’. Using topographic contour lines and contour intervals to express the elevation of deep, deeper, deepest ‘I’ in everything I perceive, crafting a topographic map of an authentic self and the energy flow.

SQUARES

This collection follows the motto of 'Unus pro omnibus, omnes pro uno' (All for one, one for all). I use various techniques and materials to create different concepts for each set of squares. The individuality of these squares encourages the buyer to channel their inner curator and inspires their senses. With an unlimited potential for arrangement, these squares offer the opportunity to create a bespoke art installation on any wall. Every square is meticulously crafted by hand, cut, formed, carved, and painted. This hands-on approach ensures that every piece is one-of-a-kind, even if they share the same colors and concept.

PAINTINGS & MIXED MEDIA

These paintings adhere to a contemporary, abstract style. I employ a range of techniques and mediums to explore various concepts in each artwork to draw things the way I perceive them. The unique abstraction in these paintings allows viewers to interpret and connect with the art in their own way. They have the freedom to arrange and display these paintings to suit their personal taste and space. Each painting is meticulously crafted, ensuring that every piece carries its own distinct character and energy.
