I am a landscape and nature photographer with a passion for creating both color and black & white images. I enjoy sharing my work with everyone, including donating original prints to charity events and fundraising events. I am passionate about natural resources and conservation and have linked that together with my photography as a way to be able to donate a portion of all proceeds from sales to the continued efforts of conservation groups and projects world wide.
Artist Statement
My name is Jon McCabe and I am Landscape Photographer from South Dakota that utilizes time and natural elements to bring my work to life. I’ve always loved slowing down and capturing the passing of time using long exposure techniques. I learned over many years that I often see better in black and white and it has become my go to format when making new images. While I still do enjoy making color images, and often do, black and white is my favorite.
I use 3 camera bodies (2 full-frame DSLR Nikon’s with pro glass and 1 Mamiya Medium Format film camera) to create my work. When shooting film, I develop my own film and process it at home.
