Artist Statement
I am an artist, a painter who finds inspiration everywhere - in music, photos, quotes, movies, books, nature, friends, other artists, and family. My paintings are a representation of a broad array of feelings, reflections and thought that permeates the world in which we live. I use bright colors and layers of paint to achieve a diverse expression of the many shades of emotions I find within myself. My goal is to inspire others to reach beyond what they perceive as possible. All forms of art provide infinite possibilities to change the world for the better. I believe that when you bring a paintbrush to canvas you immediately begin to soothe your mind, heart, and soul. Whether you are creating art or viewing it, art heals. Art makes us better as humans and in turn makes the world a better place.
The tumultuous year of 2020 precipitated for me a journey of self-discovery and profound meditation. Painting was my pathway to a richer understanding of myself and the world in which I live. I love the genre of abstract expressionism because it can transport me to many places at once. I may find myself struggling in deep crevices one day and skipping on air the next. My passion allows me to work through difficult situations and celebrate good times through my creations. My hope is to inspire others to do the same.
