RAG Contemporary is a San Francisco based gallery showcasing a range of emerging contemporary artists. Currently Curating works form RS Biggs, Gretchen Röehrs, and Lily Lewis.
Gretchen Röehrs
Gretchen Röehrs is an illustrator and painter living in San Francisco. Röehrs’ work spans fashion illustrations to large-scale portraits in oil paints, with lots of penciled cityscapes and pasteled flowers in-between. Recent illustrations have appeared in the pages of The New York Times, Vogue, Harper’s BAZAAR, and recent collaborations include Whole Foods, Starbucks, Marc Jacobs Beauty, and Sweetgreen. Profiles of the artist have appeared in the pages of The San Francisco Chronicle, The Guardian, and Cherrybombe Magazine, among others.. Roehrs’ first book, Edible Ensembles (2018), was published by Rizzoli International.
RS Biggs
RS Biggs is an interdisciplinary artist based in San Francisco. His work explores the tapestry of financial markets, philosophy, and the contemporary art world, as well as the humanity underlying it. Through a lens both critical and humorous, his work casts an amused grin on the marketplace for art, the culture of auctions, galleries, museums and the participation of financiers, fund managers, and the monied elite in the modern art landscape.
