About the Artist
I was born in Asipovichi, Belarus. Graduated from the Belarusian State Academy of the Arts in 1985. Upon graduation I began a career in the illustration and graphic design field, painting in my spare time. After several successful solo shows in the early 90's, I started to devote my attention to my art Making this career change, I moved to Toronto Canada. Being a full time artist I became an Elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists in 2009. In 2010 I moved to Florida and opened my second studio in Lake Worth. Currently my artworks are exhibited in art galleries in US, Canada and Europe.
Abstract
A two dimensional communication between color, form, shape and line is the base for “pure” abstraction.
In my practice I elaborate the situation when the layers of 2D image start to obtain 3rd. dimension by projecting the own shadows. It shows the transition from “pure” abstraction to figurative image without a formal narrative. This is the way how an IDEA (abstract) becomes a THING (object).
