What is Miami Art Week?

Each December, Miami Art Week becomes the center of the art world and hosts over 20 international art fairs, more than 1,200 galleries and thousands of artists and art lovers in Miami and Miami Beach, Florida.

Miami Art Week also includes a multimedia platform (www.miamiartweek.org) which provides individual artists, galleries and arts organizations with the opportunity to exhibit and promote artwork to collectors, VIPs and art lovers worldwide.

Included in the multimedia platform is photoMIAMI™, the only photo-centric art fair held during Miami Art Week. Our digital platform provides the ability to collaborate and promote the artwork and enhance the art and cultural experience. We extend the reach of our Exhibitors by connecting them with visitors from all over the world, social media platforms and collaboration with many galleries and arts organizations.

What is the Mission of Miami Art Week?

Miami Art Week's Mission is to promote & support emerging & established artists, galleries, arts organizations & appreciation of the arts, on an international stage
Art fairs focus on exhibiting and selling artwork. Our goal is to provide more opportunities for artwork to be seen, appreciated and sold. Simple as that.

What is a digital fair & why have one?

Miami Art Week pioneered the digital art fair trend starting in 2017, long before COVID-19. A digital art fair (at least our version) is intended to be an extension of the physical experience of attending an art fair or gallery in person. Don't get us wrong, nothing beats seeing art in person, but we realize that not everyone can participate in Miami Art Week, either as an exhibitor or attendee.

Exhibiting at art fairs is rather expensive 'affair', along with the costs associated with transporting the artwork, insurance, travel, staffing, and other items. These costs can range from tens of thousands of dollars to over $100k, for a single show. So, we try to solve that issue by providing a digital platform for artists, galleries and arts organizations to get their artwork in front of collectors, buyers and those who appreciate art.

This benefits both the galleries who already have a physical presence at the Miami fairs and are looking to maximize their visibility and budgets as well as emerging galleries and artists who want a similar opportunity but are constrained by limited funds or lack of representation.

The digital art fair 'experience'

In speaking with many art fair directors, galleries and attendees, we've realized that our digital art platform, including those provided by social media, ultimately improves, enhances and supplements the physical art fair experience. Potential attendees can get a glimpse of upcoming exhibitions at fairs in advance of the events. In many cases, the online offering provides even more incentive for the interested individual to attend fairs to see the work(s) in person.

Some fairs give exhibitors only a handful of images to showcase their work online and in some cases, the process can be tedious and time-consuming. We provide as many images as needed and the ability to exhibit sound and video installations directly on our platform. We do all the work for you as well. Plus, consider the ease of access for potential viewers or listeners of your artwork.
