Bio

Bhavya Dixit is a fine artist based in Montreal, Canada.

Originally from India, she creates intricate images in a 2500-year-old, Indian art form called as Madhubani. She innovated the process by utilizing 3D printed shapes for layout and framework, taking her cultural heritage to the global stage.

Working with both oil and acrylic, Bhavya also loves to capture emotions of performance art and visions of energy fields. She is also a creator of secret symbolic language.

A near-decade experience of working over 50 movies in post production companies has profoundly impacted her artistic vision.

Her inspiration comes from being surrounded by nature and the grandeur of the monuments across that country, where she traveled with her grandparents. For her, these paintings are like traveling in time. The childhood memories acting as an inspiration to do these creations in the present, with the vision of completion in the future.

Bhavya started exhibiting internationally in June 2020. Begining with the two prestigious shows with the Divulgarti group in Milan and Genoa.

She collaborated with SKT_Spaces a London-based gallery showcasing her work in four VR shows.

Her artworks became part of the prestigious shows Art collection & Never Again in Venice.

Her artworks have been selected for the AD ART show 2022 at the iconic Oculus Westfield, World Trade Center, New York.

In november, 2022 she present NFTs "Contemplation and Creations" and Bounded and Blinded at SCOPE 2022 - Critically acclaimed art shows that extend beyond the ordinary in contemporary art at ART BASEL/Miami Art week in collaboration with SV META.

Over the last three years, She has been selected & pleased to be part of the Canada's longest and the largest running art fair, Toronto Outdoor Art fair.

Artist Statement

What drives me to perform painting, is the stillness I extract from the art form Madhubani. Repeating intricate patterns, propelled me to be immensly focused on the movement of each stroke. In that hour of the day, when my hands are frozen and my mind reaches the pinnacle of self-talking, taking me to a state where silence and emptiness create extreme awareness and expansion for every single movement. Gifting the experience of reaching depths, where my childhood is providing meaning to these creations.

Painting gives me a medium to celebrate the essence and presence of my grandfather in my childhood. Traveling to places to explore ancient structures producing music from 56 pillars, detailed intricately carved underground medicinal wells, or exploring dark caves deep in the woods.

He encouraged me as a child to understand these creations and get inspiration while appreciating the existence of a civilization that has transcended time.

He built my connection with nature, understanding the formation of the giant tree in the neighborhood, witnessing a dancing peacock in the rain in our backyard, or maybe just a simple act of watering plants in the morning.

I believe this exceptional childhood has encouraged me to explore my existence on this planet!
