Artist statement

In this series of photographs, I seek to express the raw and visceral emotions that define this tumultuous moment in time. Through the powerful medium of dance and the manipulation of lighting, color and black-and-white contrasts, I aim to convey the profound human experiences of anger, pain, anxiety and angst.

Each image in this series captures dancers frozen in a moment of intense emotion. The dancers become vessels for the collective feelings of our era, serving as mirrors to the depths of our inner turmoil. As an artist, I am drawn to the transformative power of dance. This series is not a celebration of pain, but rather an exploration of our shared humanity in these challenging times. It invites the viewer to reflect on the emotions that bind us together as we navigate the complexities of our world.

Through dance, light and the visual language of photography, I hope to provoke thought and empathy, sparking a dialogue about our individual and collective struggles, and ultimately, our resilience in the face of adversity.
